ABOUT THE MPDAA
The Motion Picture Distributors Association is the trade body for theatrical film distributors in Australia – the companies that acquire, market and release films for Australian cinema audiences.
The MPDAA represents the interests of its members on all matters affecting film distribution in Australia in order to advance the cinema industry.
The organisation carries out its work by:

Driving industry policy and strategy on matters of interest to film distributors

Engaging with Government on regulatory decisions which impact the business of film distribution

Providing industry expertise to Government and industry consultations on relevant industry matters

Lori Flekser
Executive Director
Lori Flekser is the Executive Director of the Motion Picture Distributors Association of Australia. Since her appointment in 2010, Lori has worked to promote the motion picture industry in Australia and represent the MPDAA’s interests to Government, media, and industry.
Lori has enjoyed a long and varied career in the screen industry having worked on films and documentaries for local and international networks for over twenty years. Prior to joining the MPDAA she oversaw the Development Division at the Australian Film Commission (later Screen Australia).
Between 2012 and 2022, Lori was simultaneously the Executive Director of Creative Content Australia, raising awareness about the value of copyright and the impact of online content piracy on the screen industry. She remains on the CCA board of directors.
